Return to Korea – 60 Years Later

Return to Korea – 60 Years Later

You are invited to a special one-hour presentation by Gary Andersen about his recent trip to Korea as part of the Korea Defense Veterans Association’s 2026 Revisit Korea program.

Gary served in Korea with the U.S. Army after being drafted in 1966. Now, exactly 60 years later, he was invited to return as part of a program through which the Korean people express their gratitude to American veterans who helped defend their country.

“I’ve never received so much sincere gratitude in all my life,” Gary says. “The Korea I knew has been transformed into a remarkably modern and successful society. The changes were far beyond what I had envisioned, but what had not changed was the Korean people’s sense of humility and gratitude.”

Gary and his traveling companion, Paul Lee, spent a week in Korea as guests of the Revisit Korea program, with their trip generously sponsored by a group of Korean businesses.

Join Gary as he shares photos, stories and personal reflections from his return to Korea 60 years after he first served there.
