About the event
We've reserved the covered patio at Ramen Gaijin where they not only serve their delicious ramen but many other delightful dishes. Lunch should be from noon to about 1:30 pm and then for those who would like have an afternoon tea experience, it's on to the charming Two Trees Tea House in Occidental. As usual, bring cash as it will be on one bill. Plan on enough cash to cover the cost of your food and drink plus 30% for tax and tip.

The tale of tea is stained by a dark history- one of deception, theft, racism & violence. Even today, the mechanisms of the tea industry worldwide continue to be dictated by the legacy of a Western European colonial imperialist structure. As a multiracial and multicultural couple of British & Chinese origins, we started Two Trees Tea House as a reckoning of this dark history and a reclamation of tea culture.
We source our teas farm-direct from tea gardens around the world who grow and craft tea outside of the confines of the a mainstream tea industry, one which is oppressive to both land and humanity alike. Our partners farm organically, regeneratively and in harmony with the land on which they grow. They treat their growers, pickers & makers like community, providing them with living wages, sustainable livelihoods and opportunity for growth. Our teas are sourced with well-being, social equity, environmental justice & cultural sovereignty in mind.
